Here’s how it works:
In the can-do spirit of the Admins we honor, we are excited to announce a unique way to safely deliver our iconic Awards Gala experience in 2021 to the homes and workplaces of our Finalists their families, co-workers and the high-profile business leaders they support.
Becoming nationally known as the ‘Academy Awards for Admins’, the Admin Awards was created nearly a decade ago by the daughter of a Secretary and is the country’s first and only awards program dedicated to providing executives and coworkers with a powerful platform for recognizing the backbones of their organizations, Administrative Professionals. Winning one of nine distinctive Admin Award categories is considered the Administrative Profession’s highest honor.
A full week of celebratory activities will culminate in our iconic “Good as Gold” Awards Gala in each of our program cities, which will be webcast live to “Watch Parties” where colleagues, friends and families will gather in their homes and offices to cheer on Finalists and discover who will win one of nine coveted Admin Awards. Participants in this year’s celebration will be treated to top-quality culinary experiences, curated gifts and the opportunity to win amazing prizes as the business community comes together to honor these unstoppable professionals who make it all work!

How are Nominations Submitted?
Our nominations process will function much the same as it always has. Executives and co-workers will nominate their Administrative candidates in our nine individual award categories, and one company award category, at no charge, thanks to Program Sponsors. Nominations are submitted through our website – look for the big yellow NOMINATE button upper right hand corner.

Once a nomination is submitted, Nominees are notified instantly through our awards portal that they’ve been nominated for an Admin Award, and by whom. Anonymous nominations are not accepted. Self-nominations are accepted, however they must be followed by a Supervisor nomination.
Who Participates?
Thousands of companies have participated in our eight-year history including companies of every size and industry including many of the country’s Fortune 500 companies, mid-market, small business, start-ups, nonprofits, and government institutions – any organization that relies on the administrative function is invited to participate. The 9 Admin Award Categories & the Program’s Most Prestigious Award
There are nine individual award categories including the program’s most prestigious award, The Colleen Barrett Award for Administrative Excellence, which celebrates the spirit and proficiency of former Secretary turned President of Southwest Airlines during her five-decade career. Colleen personally evaluates and selects the Finalists and Winners in the award category that bears her name.
There is also one company award category, The Founder’s Award, which celebrates progressive companies that create an exceptional work environment for Administrative Professionals and meet specific criteria.

‘Cheers to Nominees’ virtual Zoom Happy
While we will not be able to host live cocktail receptions this year, we do intend to toast all program Nominees via a video call, which will kick off the competition and provide attendees with an overview of the program and what to expect next.
Determination of Finalists and Winners
An independent Board of Judges, including Colleen Barrett, will continue to evaluate and score each of the candidates, determining the Finalists and Winners in each Award Category. These decisions are based solely on the written nominations. Neither the Admin Awards staff nor program Sponsors have any role in the judging process. Finalists are announced on our website, Adminawards.com during Finalist Notification Week.
‘Celebration Week’ Kicks it all Off!
Leading up to the one-hour ‘Good as Gold’ Admin Awards LIVE! webcast event will be five days of Admin-adoring celebration including Finalist profiles, inspirational videos, our continued tradition of Admin-only amazing prize raffles for ticket-holders, Sponsor Profiles, and more!
The 2021 ‘Good as Gold’ Admin Awards LIVE! Awards Gala & Watch Parties:
Admin Awards LIVE! will be a virtual event, about one-hour in length on Saturday evening at 7 PM and will be an interactive experience as “Good as Gold watch parties” gather in celebration of their Finalists and the Administrative Profession. While our Awards Gala format has been reimagined, many of the iconic traditions that honor and celebrate the Administrative Profession will remain intact. Each participating Admin will be treated like royalty, regardless of their status in the competition, with a curated gift, and the chance to win one of up to 14 awesome prizes. In addition, our Tribute Video will be a fun opportunity for all participants to show their love for their Finalists and invaluable Admins. And last but certainly not least, Award Winners will receive their award act their watch party location “Publishers Clearing House” style on awards evening by our street team!
Here is just some of what we have in store this year:
– Ticket packages start at $550 (4 Pack) and include the Admin Awards LIVE! Watch Party Pack equipped with all kinds of fun goodies, including a cool commemorative gift, and will be delivered to the doorstep of all ticket holders
– Upgraded experiences include extraordinary in-home or office dinners provided by top tier caterers
– Finalists VIP packages are being curated which include a beautiful custom-made three-piece specially designed Admin Awards Finalist china place setting and a glass-blown hand-crafted wine bottle stopper in the shape of the iconic Admin Award.
– Participants will also be able to enter our Good as Gold theming contest, where they will use their creativity to dress up themselves or their “space” for the opportunity to win prizes
